利用共轭相位差信息的正交频分复用水声通信载波频偏估计

Carrier frequency offset estimation for OFDM underwater acoustic communication using conjugate phase difference information

  • 摘要: 正交频分复用(OFDM)水声通信速率高、实现方便, 但对多普勒频移较为敏感, 精准的多普勒估计和补偿是保证多普勒效应存在时通信性能的关键。针对时变多普勒效应下传统估计方法准确度不足、复杂度高的问题, 提出了一种利用共轭相位差信息的低复杂度水声OFDM载波频偏估计算法。首先, 推导连续时间轴上相邻符号间的载波相位差与载波频偏的近似关系式; 然后, 基于时频差分OFDM系统相邻子载波相位共轭的特性消除关系式中的未知发送信息, 由此可在无需插入额外数据辅助信号的基础上实现时变多普勒的估计。仿真实验和海试实验结果均验证了所提算法在时变多普勒效应下相对传统方法获得的性能改善, 表明本文算法可有效应用于时变多普勒效应下的OFDM水声通信。

     

    Abstract: Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has the characteristics of high transmission rate and low implementation complexity, but it is sensitive to Doppler frequency shift. Accurate Doppler estimation and compensation is the key to ensuring the communication performance in the presence of the Doppler effect. To solve the problem of low accuracy and high complexity of traditional estimation methods under time-varying Doppler effects, a low complexity underwater OFDM carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation algorithm based on conjugate phase difference information is proposed. The approximate relation between the carrier phase difference in adjacent symbols and the CFO is first derived. Then, the unknown transmission information can be eliminated based on the phase conjugation of adjacent subcarriers in the time-frequency differential OFDM system. In this way, time-varying Doppler estimation can be realized without inserting extra data auxiliary signals. Simulation and sea trial results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than traditional methods under time-varying Doppler effects, which proves that the proposed algorithm can be effectively applied to OFDM underwater acoustic communication under time-varying Doppler effects.
