Abstract:
Based on the non-linear thermoelastic theory, the temperature field and displacement field in a prestressed sample are obtained when an one-dimension heat disturbance is applied to it.Using piezoelectric equations the relationship between the output signal of PZT transducer, which is coulped to the back surface of sample, and initial stress in sample is found. The experimental results, which are obtained by photoacoustic and SEAM techniques, about residual stress distributions in Vicker's indentations on Al disks are presented. It is clearly shown that a waved stress distribution existing in the indentation can be estimated by the thermoelastic technique.
