UNIFOKM GROOVE-DEPTH RAC BY USING TRANSDUCER WEIGHTING

  • A new amplitude weighting method, transducer weighting for the uniform groove-depth RAC is proposed in this paper. The weighted input and output transducers form a weighting transversal filter. In addition, the groove-width weighting can also be used as an auxiliary.
    On using the new methods, two uniform groove-depth RAC’s were designed and fabricated. The side-lobe suppressions achieved were 31 dB and 32 dB respectively. The results are considered satisfactory because phase compensation by metal strip was not applied.
