A computation algorithm for ultrasonic reflective tomography

  • Mathematical analysis show that ultrasonic reflective tomogrophic reconstruction with the same transducer serving as transmitter and receiver can be obtained by using the filtered-backprojection algorithm in x-ray tomography when the transducer is far from the object to be reconstructed.However,when the transducer is near to the object,this method will result in image distortion.This paper presents an iterative technique to improve the reconstructed image.Computer simulations demonstrate an obvious inprovement in the reconstructed images by employing this algorithm as opposed to the conventional filtered-backprojection method of X-ray Tomography
