A study on characteristics of flow-induced oscillation and sound radiation of streamlined protuberant special cavities

  • The characteristics of flow-induced oscillation and sound radiation of streamlined protuberant special cavities had been studied by us. Three important results are obtained:first,in water and low Mach number, two oscillating modes in the cavity are natural oscillation and hydrodynamic oscillation of the cavity present; second,the eguation between strouhal number and Mach number of hydrodynamic oscillation is given ;third,in waterand low Mach number,the increment of general sound level of flow-induced oscillation isdirectly proper-nonal to the square of flow speed
