Investigation of limiting factors in the ultrasonic attenuation measurements by using the pulse through-transmission method

Validity of ultrasound attenuation measurements by using pulse through-transmission method is governed by some factors, such as pulse width, sample thickness, attenuation in water and beam spreading. This paper investigated these factors and provided mathematical expressions.
