Array invariant-based passive localization in shallow water through deconvolution spatial processing

  • Passive localization of underwater sound sources is an important research direction of sonar technology.Aiming at the underwater sound source localization,we propose an array invariant-based passive localization in shallow water through deconvolution spatial processing method.Blind deconvolution is used to extract time-domain Green 's functions from received radiated noise, and deconvolution method is used to extract the beam-time migration from the extracted time-domain Green functions. Then array invariants are calculated from the beam-time migration. Finally, sound source localization can be achieved.Different from the conventional array invariant method, this method can obtain a more accurate beam-time migration. The source-range estimation results from the simulation and experiment demonstrate that the proposed method is capable to improve the accuracy of source-range estimation dramatically, compared to the existing array invariant method.
