A SIMPLE METHOD FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF POWER SPECTRA AND AUTOCORRELATION FUNCTIONS BASED ON THE FOURIER TRANSFORM

According to the relation between the power spectrum and the autocorrelation function, a simple method for the measurement of the power spectrum from the autocorrelation function, or vice versa, is given. The apparatus used for the measurement consists of a photoelectric waveform generator and a harmonic analyser. The errors in autocorrelation function are discussed in case of the power spectrum being obtained by the filter method.
