Abstract

The expression of a certain power operation of the pattern function with a 3-or 4-ele-ment equispaced small linear array can be considered as the pattern function with the same equispaced large linear array. Choosing suitable power and source strength, one can determine the distribution of the source strengthes for a large array to obtain a broad-band constant beamwidth with a given sidelobe level.
