HIGH FREQUENCY GEOSOUNDS IN THE EPICENTRE REGION PRIOR TO EARTHQUAKE

  • The geosound observation station has been set up near the epicentre region. High frequency geosound signals have been found by means of geophone for its high frequency response characteristic and some processing of anticlutter. Further analysis iudicates that these signals are impulsive informations with weak energy. The duration of geosound impulses is only of the order of millisecond and the highest dominat frequency is higher than 1 kHz. It is the important features near the epicentre region probably.
