ANALYSIS OF THE NOISE FIELD WITHIN A THIN SPHERICAL SHELL EXCITED BY BOUNDARY-LAYER TURBULENCE

  • By means of the method of modal analysis,the expression for the noise field within a elastic thin spherical shell,excited by a fluctuating wall pressure beneath a turbulant boundarv layer,have been found in which the coupling between the vibration of the shell and the underwater sound field due to irradiation from the shell is taken into account.The spectrum levels of the noise pressure at typical point are calculated numerically.
