The body shape reconstruction problem with the knowledge of the acoustic near-field data under acoustic point source scattering is solved with a newly developed algorithm, which decomposes the original problem into the problems of solving an ill-posed linear integral equation and a well-posed nonlinear optimization problem. Numerical examples for two-dimensional scatters with arbitrary shape are given to show that the inversion scheme does efficiently produce very good results.
