Numerical investigation of bifurcation in finite-amplitude standing wave field

  • The characteristics of finite-amplitude oscillation of air column in closed tube are numerically studied. It is shown that there is strong nonlinear nature in finite-amplitude standing wave field, and under some suitable conditions bifurcation and chaotic phenomenon may occur. The fact that period-doubling bifurcation is one of the routes to chaos in finite-amplitude standing wave field is also found.
