  • A new theory, named the Resonance Radiation Theory (RRT),is presented in order to deeper understalldingthe mechanisms of sound radiation by submerged structure. It is an extension of the Resonance Scattering Theory (RST).For a submerged elastic spherical shell excited by internal harmonic force the resonance radiation formulae have beenderived from classical Rayleigh normal mode solution.Numerical calculation for a thin steel shell shows that the radiationform function is similar to the scattering form function. The radiation sound power synthesized by the resonance radiationformulae using complex pole parameters is in quite agreemefit with that of by the exact theory
