Abstract
The elasticity of compliant tissue reflects its physiological and pathological characteristics. The technique of ultrasonic elastography based on time delay estimation with cross-correlation is a promising method that may eventually allow early detection of many tissue pathologies and assess the biomechanical properties. In this paper, a strain reconstruction method based on adaptive selecting of tracing echo segments is established. It reduces reconstruction errors in the cost of degradation of axial resolution. The results of computer simulations indicate the feasibility of this method.
